For the success of any educational system, teachers should be well focused, experienced and committed to continuous learning. To achieve the required results and cope with the ever changing teaching methods, teachers should be well trained and equipped with the necessary knowledge to create a very encouraging and conducive educational environment to help students retain properly whatever knowledge conferred to them by their teachers.
In fact, Qatar Charity envisions a world where the school age going children are having access to proper education as being one of their basic rights.
Within the scope of this vision, QC has built the capacity of 600 teachers in the earthquake affected areas. Under this project, 600 male and female teachers have been trained on modern and innovative teaching methodologies and classroom management over a period of one year. To execute this project in a proper manner, experienced trainers had been hired imparting a good deal of knowledge to the trained teachers in the following domains;
Teaching of core subjects (Mathematics, Science, English) through joyful and activity-based learning,
Multi-grade teaching (ways and means of handling more than one class at a go),
Classroom management.
The objectives of the project were to;
Enhance the capacity of teachers through training in modern concepts of teaching and management,
Assist the teachers in acquiring critical thinking skills,
Sensitize the teachers create a safe and responsive classroom environment for children,
Introduce modern teaching methodologies to the school teachers,
Contribute to the government's efforts aiming to improve the literacy rate in the target areas,
Introduce the enlightened basic education concepts and better practices in the educational system,
Facilitate initiating a positive change in primary and elementary schooling methodologies
